Sacred Heart Catholic Church is seeking a part-time Maintenance Associate.
Job responsibilities:
Carpentry:
Ability to correctly cut, measure, attach, etc. baseboards, doors, windows, and paint.
Electrical:
Replace switches, outlets, ballasts, timers and light bulbs
Mechanical:
Maintenance regularly scheduled intervals of A/C systems
Plumbing:
Repairs leaks, toilets, clogged drains, etc.
Equipment:
Operate small power equipment such as floor cleaning equipment, golf cart, weed eaters, pressure washer, etc. Inspect and maintain sprinkler systems, zones, heads and adjust or replace as needed
Other:
Maintenance of grounds/landscaping: Trimming of hedges, shrubs & trees. All new planting. Mulching. Clean up of debris. Other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent 3 years of combined experience in the related fields Knowledge of safety policies and procedures is required Knowledge of PVC and cooper pipe installation and repairs Use of electronic communication (computer, laptop, iPad) Ability to be available for after hours, emergency repairs if needed
Physical Requirement:
Must be able to: Work in varying temperatures and climates (indoors & outdoors) Climb ladders to roof heights of buildings on the grounds Physically lift 50 lbs, lift 150 lbs using a hand truck/ dolly Continuously stand, bend, stoop and twist or work in bent-over or tight spaces Operate gas/electric pressure washers, floor cleaner, leaf blower, chainsaws, pole saws, hedge trimmers, etc. Operate power hand tools such as a drill, Sawzall, table saw and chop saws Use hand tools such as a sledgehammer, hammer, screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, sockets, ratchets, etc. Must pass a post offer DOV assigned physical exam.
