Maintenance Assistant Pay Rate:

$16.18, Hourly. Join the Suwannee Valley 4C’s Team! Suwannee Valley 4Cs is the Head Start and Early Head Start grantee in Columbia, Hamilton, Lafayette and Suwannee counties. Established in 1985, we are a private, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of low-income children and their families by offering comprehensive early childhood development services.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required 1 year experience in the maintenance field
•Must be able to pass Level II DCF background screening requirements
Must have access to dependable transportation with valid current liability insurance and a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

Be knowledgeable of and adhere to agency policies and procedures, Head Start regulations, local/state child care regulations, and other regulations, as applicable Be knowledgeable of and adhere to service contracts, as applicable
Consult with supervisor to identify and address agency maintenance needs
Ensure all work requests are completed in a timely manner and reflect quality workmanship
Assist with repair and maintenance of agency buildings, grounds, and equipment including preventive maintenance as instructed
Assist in ensuring all health and safety building/playground issues are resolved immediately as appropriate
Make light plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs as requested
Provide lawn and grounds care and maintenance at all agency sites as assigned (includes playgrounds, landscaped beds, parking lots, etc.)
Ensure assigned centers/office buildings reflect a professional, neat and clean appearance at all times
Ensure agency maintenance machinery/equipment is properly maintained, kept clean and stored in a secure location
Submit site maintenance checklist weekly
Ensure regular communication and follow-up with supervisor and staff regarding maintenance needs and status of maintenance requests
Purchase necessary maintenance items as requested by supervisor; responsible for petty cash as assigned
Assist with emergency repairs and maintenance at all sites including evening and weekend emergency call
Assist with training and special event set-ups as requested
Become familiar with program goals, objectives and philosophy
