Fleet Maintenance Specialist
Position offered by no fee agency.
A local company in Cantonment is looking for a full-time Fleet Maintenance Specialist to join its team. What you’ll be doing to make an impact:
Fabricates and/or welds items required for buildings, vehicles, equipment, and/ or other related items
May serve as a liaison with applicable suppliers by procuring and picking up materials from suppliers
Performs prescribed maintenance checks related to equipment and vehicles
May perform prescribed repairs to diesel/gasoline-powered equipment and vehicles
May perform diagnostic evaluations of equipment and vehicles
Researches supplies and procurement opportunities for items required to ensure effective and efficient repairs and operations
Evaluates and prioritizes work orders by determining appropriate repairs and reviewing and completing associated paperwork and work orders
Responds to emergency calls for service; may transport equipment and vehicles
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
What you’ll bring to the table:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), and up to one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school and three years of experience in a fleet maintenance position working with automotive repair, welding, or fabricating, which provided knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, and hazardous materials; or, a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License
Applicable tools and equipment of the trade
Principles and practices in assigned area of responsibility
Occupational hazards and safety precautions
Using applicable tools and equipment of the trade
Fabricating and/or welding items
Reading blueprints and sketches
Estimating the cost of repairs and related materials
Purchasing supplies and materials
Maintaining shop equipment
Researching vendors
Conducting negotiations
Communication and interpersonal skills, as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc., are sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
