Parks Custodial Maintenance Worker Position Available In Lee, Florida

Job Summary:

Do you like being outside? Do you like the beach scenery? We have a Custodial Maintenance Position open for a local island. The Custodial Maintenance Worker performs routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repair tasks to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of parks, recreational facilities, and public restrooms. This position plays a key role in creating a positive experience for the public by maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize restrooms, pavilions, community centers, locker rooms, and other public-use areas. Empty trash and recycling bins and disposing of waste appropriately. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and walkways. Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, fixing loose fixtures, or minor painting. Maintain grounds by picking up litter, blowing walkways, and ensure picnic and play areas are clean. Maintain the beach area making sure it is clean and presentable. Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms. Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal or leaf raking. Report damage, vandalism, or safety concerns to supervisors. Operate basic maintenance equipment and tools safely. Lock and unlock facilities as needed for scheduled events. Support set-up and breakdown of events or recreational programs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous custodial or maintenance experience is a plus. Valid driver’s license is

REQUIRED

with a clean driving record

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safe chemical use. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to public safety and cleanliness.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, bending, lifting, standing, and use of hands/tools. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors and involve exposure to dirt, dust, cleaning agents, and weather.
