JOB DESCRIPTION

The parts runner/garage assistant’s responsibilities include driving to pick up and deliver parts to and from assigned locations. We require that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the foreman or equipment manager.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Parts runner/garage assistant directly reports to and is accountable to the equipment manager.

Safe and cautious driver with a valid, clean driving record.

High School/GED

C. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Note:

Major duties include the following:

1. Safely drives to and from various locations to pick up and deliver parts 2. Receives parts and properly stocks in designated areas 3. Performs related troubleshooting tasks based on skill level 4. Places and tracks orders 5. Maintains a clean and safe work area for coworkers 6. Keeps supervisor appraised of work progress 7. Performs daily maintenance at garage for a safe and clean environment 8. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned and performs duties at company established performance levels.

D. SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL 1.

Abide by all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook. 2. Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met. 3. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax Safety and Environmental Rules and Regulations.

E. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS 1.

Garage and field operation – Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat. 2. Ability to work 40+ hours per week, Monday – Friday as required.

F. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The essential functions of this position include sitting, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.

G. CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS

This position demands an individual with the following personality traits: 1. Accurate and well organized 2. Self-motivated 3. Ability to work well with subordinates, peers and supervisors 4. Good communication skills 5. Ambitious 6. Punctual and dependable

H. ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY 1.

Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized. 2. Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence. 3. Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off. 4. Performing such other duties as may be required.
