Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for routine maintenance of asphalt/concrete roadways, sidewalks and curbs, City right of ways, culverts and catch basins and lots and trash and debris collection. Emergency Situation :

Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice. Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee’s Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work. Duties/Responsibilities This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee’s physical presence at the workplace. Performs other duties as assigned. When Assigned to Streets / Drainage / Neighborhood Cleanup Construct, maintain and repair all right of ways, roads, sidewalks, curbs, culverts and catch basins. Mow vacant City lots as needed Operate trucks and light equipment as needed. Clean and repair equipment as needed. Operates a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks. Clean up around plant, buildings and grounds as needed Perform repairs as directed. Dig ditches and excavate. Removal of trash and debris in rights-of-way. Maintain structures, landscaping, and equipment (involves frequent pressure washing and painting).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledgeable in general housekeeping practices Knowledgeable in protective equipment and safe handling of chemicals, cleaning agents or hazardous materials.
