This role is essential in ensuring our facilities are well-maintained and safe for all participants. The Maintenance Specialist is responsible forthe upkeep of the building appearance, equipment, and ensuring vehicle maintenance is current and safe. The Maintenance Specialist must ensure safety standards that comply with HPS, state and federal OSHA guidelines are used when performing maintenance duties.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform general building maintenance on a regular basis to ensure cleanliness, reporting of items needing maintenance and repairs. 2. Perform an outside inspection at least once a week to ensure the grounds and parking lot areas are clean and clear of debris and garbage. 3. Perform vehicle safety inspections as required by FDOT and HPS safety requirements. 4. Respond to all maintenance, vehicle or service repair problems and other functions in a timely manner. 5. Empty kitchen and bathroom garbage cans as needed. 6. Check and restock all janitorial supplies including kitchen and bathroom supplies as needed (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, cleaning supplies) 7. Coordinate and maintain all storage areas (securing approval with each department prior to purging documents), keeping all storage items neat and well organized. 8. Perform pick-up and delivery duties as needed for all departments. 9. Assist with pick-up and delivery of supplies/materials and installing signs. 10. Set up and take down tables and chairs for events. 11. Move, assemble and install office furniture & equipment as needed. 12. Attend all Safety Committee meetings monthly to address all maintenance issues that arise. 13. Coordinate and implement plans for larger jobs including obtaining quotes for those larger projects with approval from supervisor. 14. Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses in coordination with our vehicle and building needs.

Physical Responsibilities:

1. The ability to lift and move heavy items (Garbage cans/supplies/equipment/file boxes/office furniture, etc.) 2. This job requires exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly, 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally. 3. The ability to bend, stoop and climb a ladder of at least 20 feet while performing basic maintenance. 4. The ability to drive a motor vehicle when engaging in miscellaneous errands.

Equipment Used:

• Automobiles and various tools.

Qualifications:

1. High School Graduate or equivalent GED certificate. 2. Experience with building, equipment, and vehicle maintenance. 3. Valid Florida Driver’s License with good driving record.

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Maintain a courteous professional manner with all clients, vendors, contractors, and co-workers. 2. Basic knowledge of plumbing, air conditioners, and automotive repairs. 3. Must be proficient in assessing and prioritizing tasks and be able to work independently. 4. Must possess good communication skills, written, verbal, listening, etc. 5. Must be able to work well with others. 6. Must have basic computer skills.
