Full Job Description About Us:

Edgewood Children’s Ranch is a 501(c)(3) organization offering behaviorally challenged children and their families a fresh start through a Christ-centered approach to education, behavioral training and spiritual development. Children ages 10-17 live and study on our picturesque campus regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, or ability to pay. Students live in age- and gender- appropriate cottages with house parents who offer counsel and oversight. Our affiliated school features a low student-to-teacher ratio and individualized curriculum giving students an active and accountable role in their own advancement and success. The school serves Edgewood’s residential students only. Our mission is to return children to their homes, school and society as emotionally healthy young people. We believe that a relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the foundation of a solid family unit and we teach children to rely on that relationship to make healthy choices throughout their lives. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Handyman to join our facilities team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional campus for our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment Troubleshoot and resolve basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC issues Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and safety inspections Support special projects such as painting, remodeling, and equipment installation Maintain a clean and organized workshop and storage areas Assist with grounds-keeping as needed, including landscaping and irrigation repairs Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and leadership

Qualifications:

Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman work (minimum 2 years preferred) Knowledge of basic trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks outdoors in all weather conditions Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record Must be able to pass a Level II background screening Alignment with the mission and values of
