The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students and staff. This position requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in facilities maintenance and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs on school facilities, including drywall repair, painting, plumbing, and other related tasks. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing work orders as needed. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used. Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely. Assist with special projects and seasonal tasks as assigned. Ensure compliance with safety standards and school policies. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions. Skills Proficient in facilities maintenance with hands-on experience in various repair tasks. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate team members. Knowledgeable in using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical work. Experience in residential painting techniques and practices. Familiarity with logic controllers and their operation within building systems. Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Required Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated experience in drywall repair, painting, plumbing, and general building maintenance. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Flexible schedule; willingness to work additional hours during summer months as needed. Previous experience in a school or institutional setting is a plus. Must pass a background screening as required for school employment. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working on ladders.
