Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Adaptability to handle a variety of tasks and changing weather conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Equestrian Maintenance Worker/Groundkeeper performs the following essential functions:
Grounds Maintenance:
Mow lawns, trim hedges, and maintain landscaping around barns and arenas. Maintain and repair fencing, gates, and pasture infrastructure. Clear debris, landscaping, and weeds from the grounds as needed.
Facility Maintenance:
Perform routine inspections and repairs on barns, stalls, tack rooms, and storage areas. Maintain plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems as needed. Assist with arena maintenance including dragging, watering, and footing upkeep.
Equipment OperationMaintenance:
Operate tractors, mowers, weed trimmers, and other groundskeeping equipment. Perform basic maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and tools.
Support Barn Operations:
Assist with unloading hay, feed, and bedding deliveries. Help with stall cleaning and manure management when needed. Support event setup and breakdown for shows or clinics.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or farm work. Familiarity with equestrian facilities and horse safety is a plus. Ability to operate and maintain landscaping and farm equipment. Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
