SCOPE/POSITION OVERVIEW
The Equipment Technician is responsible for assisting in the equipment maintenance and repair operations for the Golf Course Maintenance department.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school education, and preferably secondary course of study in mechanics, or trades training plus at least one year’s mechanical experience working with small engine repair and/or turf equipment, or equivalent experience in turf equipment management.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Assists the Equipment Manager in appropriate preventative and curative maintenance required for all golf course equipment maintenance operations. Completes daily service records. Assist the Equipment Manager in maintaining appropriate parts inventory. Ensures that the equipment maintenance shop and appropriate areas are kept clean, organized, and provide a safe working environment for staff members. Must be thoroughly trained in the procedures of each task before performing such tasks. Must follow the guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task. Required to wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards. Special projects or other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 25 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
