Custodial Maintenance Worker Macon-Bibb County Government – 2.3 Macon, GA Job Details Full-time $15 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Entry level Full Job Description JOB Under general supervision, performs un-skilled to semi-skilled manual work in the care and maintenance of municipal buildings. Work is subject to inspection by a supervisor for maintenance of established standards of cleanliness and compliance with instructions.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Sweeps and mops daily.
Strips and waxes, buffs floors quarterly or as needed for the campus.
Vacuums and cleans carpets for the campusDusts and cleans furniture in Administration Bldg. and Fire Prevention Bldg. Washes walls, windows, furnishings and fixtures.
Cleans rest rooms twice daily — maintaining supplies.
Collects and disposes of trash daily.
Keeps inventory of cleaning supplies and reports low supplies to supervisor.
Shelves supplies and transport materials.
Mixes insect sprays under direction of supervisor and sprays for insects, as required.
Assists in general maintenance work (i.e., changing light bulbs, fixtures, etc.).Maintains yards, which includes: Cuts Grass/Edging/Pruning of Trees & Bushes weekly or bi-weekly.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Knowledge of the methods, practices and materials used in cleaning operations. Ability to carry out assignments according to established schedules and practices. Basic knowledge of environmental services, maintenance (yard maintenance and equipment) and floor maintenance equipment which includes waxing and buffing.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and with members of the general public.
Completes special projects and performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
