High School diploma or equivalent required. One to two years previous experience in lawn care and/or park maintenance required.
Position Summary:
Duties include performing a variety of repairs and upkeep of the lawns, fields and surrounding park facilities
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
Clean and maintain athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis courts and other park facilities. Keep shrubs and grass cut, fertilized, weeded and watered at scheduled times. Prepare yardage lines/foul lines for football and baseball fields. Perform plumbing and other minor repairs/replacements throughout the park facilities. Collect and dispose of trash/litter on park grounds and facilities. Perform other related duties assigned by the Park Maintenance Supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Possess a valid Georgia driver’s license. Knowledge of the methods, material, tools and equipment used in lawn maintenance. Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and practices. Skill in the operation and maintenance of small hand tools and motor-powered hand tools. Skill in the application of commercially prepared cleaning solutions/chemicals. Ability to carry out oral and written instructions. Knowledge of work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with cleaning and lawn maintenance work.
Working Environment:
Outside environment. Exposed to year round outside weather elements. Moderate to loud noise levels. Protective clothing maybe required. Fast paced, requiring flexibility in handling a variety of functions, simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, crouching, and stooping, required. Must have a high degree of manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must speak and hear sufficient for understanding.
