Job Summary:
To coordinate effective and efficient right-of-way clearing in accordance with system requirements as part of the Cooperative’s established distribution system maintenance program.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Organizes and coordinates the cutting, trimming, and mowing of right-of-way along with chemical spraying of same, in accordance with all codes and regulations for new construction, system improvement, and maintenance activities.
2. Coordinates vegetation management activities of multiple contract crews.
3. Meets members to discuss issues related to vegetation management projects and address member maintenance concerns.
4. Resolves member complaints through contractor and GreyStone management.
5. Lifts and drags brush, runs chain saw.
6.Completes and maintains all paperwork for contractor activity such as time sheets, work orders, trouble orders, field check orders, and daily log related to system vegetation management including cycle trimming and chemical application.
7. Inspects’ assigned vehicles and equipment and tools regularly for safety and maintenance purposes.
8.Work safely. Follow all safety rules.
9.Inspects completed ROW circuits for ROW issues missed and electrical issues that could cause an outage.
10.Does quality controls on pull old poles and painted transformers.
11.Update and edit the distribution inspection forms as needed.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Require high school graduate/equivalent.
Require four years experience in utility line maintenance work with supervisory ability.
Require valid Georgia D.O.T. commercial license.
Must satisfactorily pass the EMC’s employment physical examination and required drug screen.
Possibility of becoming an ISA certified arborist.
Possibility of obtaining a pesticide spray license Physical Demands (if applicable): Must be able to work with exposure to outside elements such as rain, mud, heat, cold, insects, animals, and other unfavorable environmental conditions.
Must work in all kinds of terrain and heavy traffic conditions.
Required to do some lifting and other strenuous physical activity as each job may dictate.
Require flexibility of schedule changes and to be available for emergency work when needed.
