Qualifications/Knowledge:
Must have high school diploma or GED Must have a current valid driver’s license Knowledge of parks and grounds maintenance principles and practices Knowledge of playground maintenance principles Knowledge of athletic field maintenance principles Skill in the use of hand and power tools Skill in problem solving Skill in interpersonal relations Skill in oral and written communication
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs janitorial duties; cleans and restocks restrooms Participates in the maintenance of county parks, athletic fields and related facilities; performs turf management duties; prepares athletic fields for play Installs and maintains landscaping Removes litter and debris from playgrounds, parking lots, pavilions and other park facilities Assists in the repair and maintenance of swimming pools and water parks Ensures work is performed in compliance with all relevant rules and regulations Maintains inventory and reorders supplies as needed Assists in preparing for tournaments, special events and programs Trims, removes and provides care for trees, bushes and ornamental plants Inspects playgrounds and reports maintenance needs to supervisor Assists in the repair and maintenance of tools and equipment Performs minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical repair Performs all other related duties as assigned Employment Applications will be accepted Until Filled on Troup County’s website @ www.troupcountyga.gov.
