Maintenance Shop Helper – Baton Rouge Temporary $16-19 / HR Mon-Fri 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently hiring for a Maintenance Shop Helper for a local client in East Baton Rouge.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

for

Maintenance Shop Helper:

Provides support to other maintenance technicians as required. Completes scheduled safety and maintenance inspections and checklists. Performs routine cleaning of the cooling tower and bag house. Lubricates chains and equipment; replaces equipment belts as needed. Sorts and repairs damaged pallets. Operates the shrink wrap machine to assist with product packaging. Assembles boxes for Production and builds crates for Maintenance. Threads and fits pipes according to instructions. Safely operates saws, torches, and grinders. Carries out facility painting tasks, including equipment and floor striping. Acts as a Fire Watch during welding and torch cutting in non-designated areas. Maintains cleanliness in the maintenance shop, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas. Takes on additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Must be punctual & able to show up to work on time each shift Work directly under a variety of personalities & experience levels Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to read, write, and interpret reports. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously, and consistently meet deadlines. Sufficient degree of initiative and independent judgment. Ability to express oneself effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
