Operational Contributor(Intermediate) / A The Role The Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) EisnerCamp is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Maintenance Associate to ensurethe upkeep of camp facilities and grounds. This key role works on a teamto ensure that Eisner Camp remains a safe, welcoming, andwell-maintained environment for our community, fostering a sense ofbelonging. As a member of the camp’s Facilities team, the MaintenanceAssociate will perform a range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensurea safe, clean, and functional environment for staff, campers, andretreat groups. What You Will Do The Maintenance Associate isresponsible for the following:

  • Perform preventative and correctivemaintenance on camp buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems(plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.) to ensure safety andfunctionality.
  • Maintain campgrounds, including mowing, weeding, debrisremoval, and snow shoveling. Operate necessary equipment safely.
  • Perform janitorial duties, including cleaning floors, windows, andrepairing basic fixtures and equipment. Manage waste and recyclingdisposal.
  • Assist with preparing camp for group use, including settingup rooms for meetings or retreats and securing camp after groupdepartures.
  • Provide immediate maintenance support during emergencies,working closely with the Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain a safe and cleanworkshop and follow safety protocols.

Support camp leadership and workcollaboratively with vendors, staff, and the community. Maintenance Skills:

Hands-on expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and generalfacility maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, and upkeep ofvarious systems.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience inmaintenance, facilities management, or a similar role is highlypreferred, especially in a camp or similar environment.
  • PhysicalDemands:

    Ability to perform physical tasks related to facility upkeep,including repairs, maintenance, and inspections. Ability to lift 75 lbs.or more. Stamina and willingness to work long hours, in inclementweather and for stretches of days.

  • Ability to work irregular hoursincluding weekends.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
