Maintenance Worker Position Available In Berkshire, Massachusetts

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the grounds,facility, equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance withcurrent Federal, State and local standards, guidelines, and regulations,our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by yoursupervisor, to assure that a successful maintenance program ismaintained at all times.

• Essential Job Functions:

• Perform routinemaintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting,trimming, policing, sweeping, etc., as necessary/directed.
• Performroutine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to includeplumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., asdirected, in accordance with established procedures.
• Clean windows andscreens as directed.
• Replace burned out lights bulbs, to include, exitlights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., andperform cleaning duties in very high places.
• Service heating andcooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer, and incompliance with established policies and procedures.
• Performunscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
• Maintain general plant andfacility in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and orderlyenvironment.
• Maintain an atmosphere of positive emphasis as well as acalm environment throughout the facility.
• Assure maintenance supplieshave been replenished in work areas as necessary.
• Assist other inlifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested.
• Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by yoursupervisor, department director, and/or administrator.

• Qualifications:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diplomaor equivalent
• Must be able to read, write and speak the Englishlanguage in an understandable manner.
• Must possess the ability to makeindependent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructivecriticism.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel,residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel andthe general public.
• Must be willing to work harmoniously with otherpersonnel, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatevermaturity level they are currently functioning.
• Must be able to followwritten and oral instructions.
