Utility Worker The Utility Worker?s primaryresponsibilities are to safely and efficiently clean and fuel buses,vans, and other company vehicles in order to provide a clean and safetransit service to our passengers. The cleaner will also be responsiblefor assisting in maintaining bus stops to include shelters and signs aswell as assist in maintaining the facility and other company property.

He or she must also complete all required associated paperwork, on adaily basis, in a prompt and accurate fashion.

MAJOR DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

The duties listed below are representative of thoseperformed by a

Utility Worker:

Report to garage on time and pre inspecttools and equipment prior to beginning work. Clean and maintain interiorand exterior of the facility. Drive buses and other company vehicles ina safe, defensive manner. Employees with no CDL will be restricted todriving buses only on the property. Inspect, fuel, clean, and add fluidsto buses as they come off route or as necessary according to maintenanceprocedures and policies. Inspect, fuel, clean, and add fluids to othercompany vehicles and equipment as necessary or directed. Coordinate withDispatchers and Technicians to ensure availability of buses for routes.

Report to Maintenance Manager any unusual occurrences which occur duringyour shift at the time of occurrence. Complete an Incident or AccidentReport for any such occurrence. Report any mechanical or safetydeficiencies found to the Maintenance Manager. Inspect and maintainshelters, signs, and other bus stop property in regards to cleanliness,damage, vandalism, and snow removal. Posts schedules as needed at busstops. Report consistent damage to bus stop property to the OperationsManager. Assist in maintaining the facility and grounds to includepainting, cleaning, landscaping, basic building repair, etc. Assist ininstallation of new bus stop signs, shelters, or other improvements tostops. Complete appropriate paperwork as necessary during the shift. Runerrands to include picking up parts and delivering mail and suppliesbetween the FTM and FRTA offices. Other associated functions as may berelevant to the position/ department and prescribed from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

A high school diploma or GED isrequired.

Experience:

Custodial and maintenance experience is preferred.

Possession of a current class D license is required as well as theability to obtain a DOT Medical Card if hired.

Knowledge:

Incumbent mustbe able to read and write.

Physical Requirements:

Incumbent must have ahigh degree of energy, be physically capable and must meet physical,medical, and mobility requirements for operation of a commercialvehicle. Must be able to lift and move heavy items and bend, squad,twist into confined spaces as necessary for inspections and repairs.

Must be available to work evenings and weekend hours as required. Mustbe available for snow removal when required.

Interpersonal Skills:

Musthave excellent communication skills for positive interactions with otherCompany personnel, public agency personnel, vendors, and the generalpublic. Must be capable of responding to employee inquiries, concerns,suggestions, and complaints.

Work Environment:

The work environment isprimarily indoors with frequent exposure to outdoor weather, bus fumes,oils and grease, accident site and traffic hazards, and some hazardousmaterials. Incumbent must be comfortable with occasional work alone in anon-populated area at night.

Supervision:

This position is supervised bythe Maintenance Manager, FTM, Inc.
