This position is 12 months. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for custodial and general building maintenance services. Some duties include but not limited to:
- Plan and organize general building maintenance services upon request
- Assist departments in coordinating custodial needs, procedures, schedules, projects including opening of the building, rentals, facility set up
- Outside maintenance, such keeping parking lot clear of debris, snow blowing, shoveling, lawnmowing, general exterior repair and maintenance
- Assist in planning emergency and periodic custodial functions such as flood damage cleanup, carpet extractions, refinishing of gym and other floors. Keeping the building free of debris in hallways, exits, restrooms, general care of class rooms, halls, building, fixture and equipment requiring such as waxing, buffing, and other custodial duties
- Plan and coordinate a variety of related function including moving furniture, equipment, trash disposal, event setup and breakdown
- Assure maintenance and repairs are complete and in compliance with specifications, LPVEC standards, timelines and applicable codes and regulations
- Investigate and resolve complaints and comments from LPVEC personnel and the general public pertaining to the grounds and building
- Monitor exterior doors and windows for safety and security and monitor interior doors for maintaining proper building codes
- Security of building
- respond & resolve related issues of theft, vandalism, fire, health and safety
- Available for emergency mechanical systems failures ie: security, elevator, HVAC etc.
- General inspection of the facilities This role requires a combination of physical labor and technical skills to maintain equipment and perform various tasks related to facilities maintenance, and general repairs.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This position requires a high level of physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to operate equipment including buffers, carpet extractors, computer, spa vacuum, wet vac, vehicles, various hand and power tools lift or force 20-70 pounds, squat, stand, kneel, talk, hear, full mobility of hands, legs and feet. Ability to tolerate and function in disruptive and chaotic situations, able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and administration, must communicate clearly and concisely and , The successful candidate must be Computer literate, detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
