SUMMARY:
The Building Maintenance Worker performs a variety of facility maintenance and minor building construction tasks, including manual labor, custodial duties and related work, as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, or equivalent, plus two (2) years building maintenance experience. Must have a valid State of Maine Class B driver’s license or be able to obtain within six (6) months from start date.
WORK ACTIVITIES
Perform routine building maintenance such as plumbing, carpentry and painting repairs, replacement of light fixtures and bulbs, and general operation of custodial equipment. Move various equipment to assist other departments and set up for events. Clean and maintain building exteriors- including snow removal, landscaping and litter removal, and exterior structural repair. Maintains heating, air conditioning and alarm systems and their components. Operate various equipment such as pick-up trucks, 1-ton plow trucks, single and tandem axle dump trucks with plow/wing, skid-steer loaders, bobcats, sidewalk plows and other various equipment and tools needed for maintenance operations.
