Come join us! We’re looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Worker for our Public Works Department. In this role, we will provide you with all the training you need in order to perform a variety of maintenance activities pertaining to Public Works operations and services. You’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks such as construction, maintenance and repair of city right of way and infrastructure, storm drains, sign installation, snow removal and more! You’ll play a key role in influencing and enhancing services to our citizens and truly make a difference in this community. No experience is required for this position, though we do still encourage experienced candidates to apply and will take experience into consideration when evaluating starting salary. Participate in the construction and maintenance of streets including patching of potholes and assisting with street repairs; install traffic control; participate with pavement marking; install street signs; sweep streets; Operate a variety of equipment including dump trucks, mowing tractors, street sweeper, front end loaders, skid steers, track hoe, snow removal equipment, asphalt rollers, and a variety of hand tools. Perform activities involving the repair of storm water mains and structures; Participate with trenching and backfilling. Clean and maintain assigned vehicles, tools and equipment. Assist with snow and ice removal from city streets by plowing and spreading salt; operate other snow removal equipment as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities No experience required, though related experience is desirable. Equivalent to a high school diploma required. Must be able to obtain a valid Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with air brake. (ALL training and license expenses are fully paid for by the City) The City of Liberty adheres to a drug-free workplace as defined by federal law.
