Job Description

  • Primary Purpose
  • Performs work in the park maintenance of County parks and facilities. Work will be primarily performed at Creekside or West Craven Parks.##
  • Essential Functions
  • Works part-time through the Spring, Summer, and Fall months to assist with park maintenance
  • Keep park areas including shelters clean of trash and debris
  • Sanitize and clean bathrooms
  • Prepares and maintains athletic fields for weekend games and tournaments
  • Mowing and trimming fields and common grounds
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Work also requires considerable tact as you will come into contact with the general public on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to operate tractors, lawn mowers, weed eaters, and power tools
  • Ability to perform strenuous work under varying weather conditions
  • Will involve lifting of equipment, paint and line marking equipment up to 75 pounds.##
  • Minimum Education and Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid NC Driver’s license
  • Experience operating mowing and field maintenance equipment helpful.##
  • Additional Information
  • Must be able to work special events and programs as needed.
