is hiring a General Maintenance Worker Plumber (GMW-P) to perform basic plumbing, maintenance and repair of plumbing fixtures and equipment requiring general skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in the plumbing trade. Work involves a variety of the ing duties: assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. The GMW-P has a general knowledge of how water supply networks, waste and drainage systems are installed, repaired and maintained in accordance with established building codes and studies building plans and working drawings to aid in the completion of general installation and repairs.
This list is not all inclusive and the GMW-P’s primary responsibilities overall include performing general plumbing maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs on buildings and equipment in in the plumbing trade.
Salary
$23.47 / hr. plus $9.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
Performs general repairs and maintains plumbing
replace washers in leaky faucets, mend burst pipes, and open clogged drains using specialized equipment (jetter)
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipe.
composed of metal, pvc, fiberglass and vitrified clay.
Join pipe by use of bolted flanges, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints.
May bend pipe to required angle using pipe-bending tool
Fills pipe system with water or air and read pressure gauge to determine if system is leaking.
Install and repair plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners under supervision
Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
General experience in maintaining, repairing, installing and operating plumbing systems
includes pipes, traps, plumbing fixtures, back flow prevention systems, water and drain lines, pressure vessels and control system.
General knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including alterations and repairs.
Follows verbal instructions and ads to policies and procedures.
Adaptable and flexible in work situations.
Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner.

PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY

in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
4+ related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades
Valid driver’s license
Valid DL complaint with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Regular, dependable attendance required
OVERTIME- nights and weekends
U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
Lifting and adjusting heavy objects, contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment.
May spend long hours in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.
May also come in contact with potential poisons and gases that could cause injury or illness.
Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with sewer and water
