JOB GOAL
To effectively manage the daily operations, maintenance, and facilities management functions across all district buildings to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and
visitors. Additionally, the role requires managing resources efficiently, promoting excellent customer service, and maintaining a flexible schedule to respond to emergencies and facility needs as they arise. Typical work day is Monday – Friday 3-11, but 7-3 in the summer and on vacation weeks
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or Equivalent required, advanced training preferred
Experience in project management; organization, scheduling, and meeting deadlines
Demonstrated knowledge of property management, basic principles of construction, building maintenance and systems
At least three years of experience in facilities management
Knowledge of purchasing, contract management and business operations/administration.
The ability to provide excellent leadership and customer service.
Valid driver’s license (travel between buildings will be required regularly)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily operations of all facilities
Manage overtime and coverage needs
Maintain a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and school vacations, and respond to emergency situations impacting operations and facilities
Plan, organize, and assign tasks for staff
Act as the co-asbestos coordinator along with the Director of Maintenance
Communicate regularly with the Director of Maintenance as it relates to any concerns
Assist the Maintenance Director with personnel actions, including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations, skills development, and training
Supervise custodial staff, including contracted service providers
Manage daily maintenance schedules and work orders
Coordinate custodial personnel’s vacation schedules and coverage, in collaboration with the Director of Maintenance
Recommend purchases of equipment and supplies
Promote and oversee preventative maintenance programs
Assist with the planning and scheduling of district-wide maintenance and repair requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and safety standards
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and safety across buildings and grounds
Coordinate in-service training for custodial staff in collaboration with the Director of Maintenance
Monitor work orders and maintain communication with maintenance staff to prioritize tasks
Prepare facilities for athletics and school events
Conduct periodic inspections of all school facilities
Maintain security protocols and recommend improvements as necessary
Supervise and inspect improvement or renovation work by contractors, ensuring contract terms are met before approving final payments
Oversee use of facilities for after school events by outside vendors
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full Year Contract, Approximately 260 days
SALARY RANGE
65-80k depending upon experience
