Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to help ensure the safety, functionality, and upkeep of our buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and supportive physical environment for our programs and the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform minor and major repairs to buildings, equipment, and grounds. Complete routine and complex preventative maintenance on facilities, vehicles, and other systems. Respond to off-hour emergency calls to ensure ongoing operation of the physical plant. Identify and resolve potential safety hazards promptly. Use hand and power tools safely and appropriately. Demonstrate the ability to isolate and troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. Cooperate with supervisors and team members, following assigned work orders and safety regulations. Maintain compliance with all code and safety requirements. Participate in required training and development opportunities. Support and uphold the mission and values of EIHAB Human Services in all tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old. Must pass a background clearance. Medical examination required before start date (renewed every two years). Valid driver’s license required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. At least one year of related experience in maintenance (or equivalent combination of training and experience). Experience in one or more trades such as carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical repair preferred.

Skills:

Ability to read and follow simple instructions and memos. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift, climb, crawl, and perform physically demanding labor. Why Join EIHAB?
