Utility Technician Position Available In Oneida, New York

SHIFT:

Varies, full-time schedule will be given after training is completed. Shift may be 4 days 10 hours per week. (we currently have both 5-day and 4-day depending on work schedule bid)

JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for maintaining the appearance and operational status of the buses, shelters, buildings and grounds managed under Centro of Oneida.

MAJOR DUTIES

1.Make minor vehicle repairs2. Clean vehicles inside and outside3.Service the revenue collection system (fare box)4.Service all fluids and inspect vehicles general condition5.Assist with road calls and incident clean up6.Maintain parking and maintenance garages10. Preventative maintenance on all types of equipment ie: vehicle lifts, HVAC, various types of shop equipment, small gas engines.11. Snow and ice removal from parking lots, shelters, and sidewalks at building entrances and connecting walks.12. Complete grounds work as assigned by the maintenance supervisors, foremans and managers, which may include picking up trash, mowing, weeding, and maintaining landscaping beds. (Pesticide applicator permit a plus).13. Move assorted office equipment, desks, shelves and tables.14. Respond to and complete work orders for building maintenance.15.

Light construction work ie:

painting, bus shelter/sign work, masonry.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1.High School Diploma or GED.2.Drivers license for a minimum of five (5) years and possess or obtain a CDL B with passenger endorsement during 6-month probation period.3.Must possess skills in general maintenance and cleaning4.Must be able to take directions and be agile.5.Must be able to read/write English and pass basic mechanical knowledge test.6.Must be at least 21 years old and in good physical condition. (For CDL and 5-year minimum per Line 2)7.Must be able to adapt to a changing environment, this includes inclement weather.
