The Gardens at Orangeville, a skilled nursing facility in Orangeville, PA, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This full-time position offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where your expertise will contribute to the safety, functionality, and overall upkeep of our facility.
Schedule:
Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday – Friday) On-Call Weekends and Holidays (as needed)
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering, and mechanical work. Maintain the facility by repairing walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, and windows, as well as handling trash removal. Move and arrange furniture as needed to complete assignments efficiently. Coordinate daily maintenance tasks with nursing services when working in resident areas. Follow established maintenance schedules and supervisor instructions in accordance with facility policies and procedures. Ensure the upkeep of the facility’s grounds, including mowing, trimming, sweeping, and maintaining parking areas and driveways. Replace light bulbs, including exit and overhead lights, to maintain a safe environment. Assist in executing the Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure all machinery and equipment remain in optimal working condition. Respond promptly to unscheduled or emergency maintenance requests as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field. Familiarity with cleaning materials, equipment, and general repair tools. Proficiency with basic hand tools and power tools. Experience in commercial painting, drywall repair, and replacement. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Why Join Us?
