General Maintenance Worker :

Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, minor plumbing and electrical, and repairing doors and other building fixtures. Inspects the building, grounds, and equipment. Performs routine maintenance on Penn Residential Property, including, but not limited to tree trimming and snow removal. Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Installs equipment, appliances, and flooring. Loads and unloads equipment and tools into work vehicles if needed. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities. Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance. Collaborates with maintenance team and contractors as needed. Reads and follows manuals, or other written instructions. Complies with all company safety regulations. Accepts other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers. Knowledge of general carpentry and repair. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, lawn care equipment, and chainsaws. Ability to tow a trailer and operate a snowplow. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Required Experience:

A minimum of one year of building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrician experience is required.
