– This position is located on Kiawah Island, South Carolina

Position Summary:

The Landscape Shop Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of landscaping equipment to ensure the grounds are well maintained and visually appealing. This role is crucial to ensure that all tools and equipment are in optimal working condition to support our landscape operations.

Pay Rate:

The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education – High School graduate or equivalent is preferred
Minimum Experience – Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, particularly with landscaping or heavy machinery is preferred
Capable of using and training in landscape heavy machine operation. Ability to plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and hands-on experience.
Comfortable handling and applying chemicals safely.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
Strong attention to detail in performing maintenance tasks and recording activities.
Must be able to pass a background check

Expectations & Responsibilities:

Perform basic care and maintenance on landscaping equipment, including oil changes, checking fluid levels, rotating tires, and conducting 2-stroke tune-ups. Repair or replace worn parts such as blades, tires, and wheels.
Follow checklists to conduct monthly inspections and preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.
Order, pick up, and manage parts from vendors. Ensure repairs are performed to manufacturer specifications and maintain a well-organized inventory of parts.
Work with the team to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks based on need. Explain equipment problems and repair solutions to team members and management.
Monitor and maintain grounds by managing trash, litter, and debris. Perform flower bed maintenance and installation, pruning, mowing, chemical application, and irrigation maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to management.
All other duties, as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift minimum weight of 50 lbs. across medium distances.
Must be able to stand for the entirety of shift while reaching, bending and stooping.
Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
Must be able to work in various weather conditions
