Job Overview:
The role of the Maintenance Trades Helper is to provide day-to-day installation support for a variety of RF, audio, video, navigation, and communication system installations. Some of the installation support will include but not be limited to cable and equipment removal, grinding, cutting, and fire-watch duties. This position reports to the Installation Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
Working closely with the government sponsor(s) and other contractors/subcontractors in federal facilities. Assist Subject Matter Experts, Electronics technicians & welders with mechanical systems installations such as duct work and piping. May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment. Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned.

We expect this employee to have experience working with mechanical, power and/or piping systems.
Job Requirements:
Mandatory:
Must be a US citizen Must have or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance Must have 2 years’ experience working with mechanical, power or piping systems. Must have High School diploma Must be willing to travel up to 75%
CONUS/OCONUS
Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
Experience reading installation drawings Wiring experience
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work indoors/outdoors Must be able to tolerate cold/heat Comfortable working around exposures to hazards in industrial environments Ability to work in low lit areas for long periods of Travel is expected as part of this work
Physical Requirements:
Ability to carry 50 pounds unaided or 90 pound loads aided Work in tight, cramped spaces such as equipment racks, cableways, and under false decks Work on ladders and/or move up and down ladder wells onboard USCG cutters
