MINIMUM STARTING SALARY FOR NEW HIRE

#13.00 per hour, pay based on experience level. This is a full time, NON-permanent position. Field positions work up to a forty-hour rotating schedule, including weekends & holidays as scheduled.

JOB PURPOSE

Under direct supervision, performs duties necessary in the maintenance and housekeeping of park grounds, facilities and equipment at Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site. Performs diverse duties as governed by general instruction, policies and standard operating procedures of the Department. Assists with park maintenance and grounds duties in accordance with Department policy and procedures. Performs routine and preventative maintenance and repairs on grounds, buildings and equipment. Operates necessary equipment and tools and assists other workers to perform general maintenance and grounds tasks to include but not limited to mowing, weedeating, edging, blowing, tree cutting, pruning, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, hvac, housekeeping, trail maintenance, etc. Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma and one (1) year related experience. •Candidates MUST specifically meet these required qualifications or an equivalent combination of _education and experience to be considered for this position. _ _ _

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Must be able to pass SLED background check. Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver’s License. Housing not provided.
