Position Description Advertised Job Summary The University of South Carolina is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across office spaces, common areas, restrooms, parking lots, and garages. Key duties include performing daily cleaning and sanitation tasks, restocking restrooms, emptying trash and recycling bins, and maintaining outdoor areas through groundskeeping, landscaping, and equipment operation. The role also includes light maintenance tasks such as pressure washing, painting, and operating a sweeper to uphold the cleanliness and safety of parking facilities. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of custodial or grounds keeping standards and requirements. Job Duties Job Duty General duties include painting and pressure washing. Essential Function No Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty Repair and maintain the operation of entry and exit gates in garages. Assist with setup of all sporting events on campus. Transport ADA individuals with golf cart during special events and sporting events. Operate forklift to assist with event setups.
