Job Summary – General Maintenance Worker (Part-Time) Management Solutions LLC is seeking a reliable and versatile Part-Time General Maintenance Laborer to support day-to-day facility operations and ensure our office environment remains safe, functional, and well-maintained. This hands-on role is ideal for a proactive individual who enjoys physical work, solving practical problems, and helping maintain a productive workplace. This position is located on-site in Oak Ridge, TN and requires approximately 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will perform a wide variety of general maintenance tasks, including moving and assembling furniture, hanging office items, setting up conference rooms, performing light furniture repairs, assisting with minor locksmith tasks, and maintaining a clean, professional office environment. Key Responsibilities Move, assemble, and disassemble office furniture as needed for space reconfigurations or relocations. Hang items such as whiteboards, signage, artwork, and shelving using appropriate mounting tools and techniques. Set up and break down conference rooms for meetings and events, ensuring proper furniture arrangement and equipment placement. Perform light carpentry and furniture repair tasks such as tightening screws, fixing hinges, and adjusting drawers. Conduct minor locksmith tasks (e.g., changing locks or keys) or assist in coordinating with vendors for more advanced needs. Ensure common areas, offices, and workspaces are clean, organized, and in good repair. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and document completed tasks. Support the facility in coordinating external vendors or trades as needed. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or related roles. Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 75-100 lbs) safely and regularly. Proficiency with hand and power tools (e.g., drills, levels, screwdrivers, wrenches). Basic understanding of locks and keys, or willingness to learn minor locksmith tasks. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within a part-time schedule. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Professional demeanor and commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming office environment. Valid driver’s license required. Due to the nature of our work, must be a U.S. citizen. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing 75 to 100 pounds independently or with dollies. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
