PARKS AND RECREATION
Starting hourly rate is $15.80. Eligible for 5% salary increase after 6 months Employer paid employee health, vision, dental and life insurance.
TUESDAY-SATURDAY NIGHT SHIFT POSITION
(3:30PM to 12:00AM) •After Daylight savings (9:30AM to 6:00PM)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of facilities and activities at Centennial Park, Soccer Complex and Garrison Park. Responsible for operation and upkeep of all department equipment, including vehicles, mowers and tractors. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all department facilities; performs a variety of multi-craft related maintenance duties including, but not limited to: plumbing, including repair of leaks, pipes, urinals, etc; painting of buildings, facilities and fixtures, light carpentry including repair of structures and facilities, changes bulbs and lights. Cleans, mops, sweeps and washes areas such as restrooms, shops, shelters, facilities, concessions, sidewalks, pavilions, stadiums, parking lots, pedestrian walkways, etc. Performs tasks related to sports field maintenance including, but not limited to: dragging/raking fields, lining/painting fields, irrigation system operation/maintenance, laying seed/sprigs/sod, fence repair, weedeating and weed control applications.
REQUIRED ABILITIES
Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays. Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment as required for job. Requires demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience in multi-craft maintenance and repair. Requires strong physical stamina and performs heavy manual work for periods of time. Ability to operate a variety of light equipment. Required to pass an employment background check, physical and drug/alcohol screening.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma, or equivalent, required. Valid driver’s license required. 2-3 years of directly related experience preferred, but not required.
