Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a hands-on approach. And a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with other team members to maintain a safe and functional environment that supports our organization’s mission to meet the most basic needs of hungry, homeless, and vulnerable people in our community while offering a clear path to self-sufficiency. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on all CHATT Foundation buildings and equipment. Carry out skilled trade duties, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. Conduct repairs on all buildings and equipment as needed. Replace parts and equipment necessary for CF operations. Inspect buildings and equipment for safety concerns. Clean buildings, equipment, and grounds as required. Perform janitorial duties as required. Touch up paint and perform other painting tasks when necessary. Assemble parts and equipment as needed. Maintain inventory control and accountability for maintenance tools and supplies. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Adhere to the policies and procedures of the CHATT Foundation. Completes other duties as assigned. Show a commitment to the mission and vision of the CHATT Foundation. Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous maintenance experience preferred. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for an entire shift. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision. Ability to work from ladders and on uneven ground, and in areas with associated risks. Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safe work environment Ability to transition between tasks. Capacity to handle crises while maintaining a professional demeanor with kindness and confidence. Background screen and drug screen required. CHATT Foundation is a second-chance employer.
