Full Job Description Non-Exempt Position Job Summary:
Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. Minor electrical work, mechanical repairs and other duties relating to maintenance and the primary duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the Maintenance Department Assist in maintaining and repairing HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas Perform urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as required As required, assist in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems Inspects and tests equipment/systems Perform preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of the facility and complies with all building safety codes This is to include facility equipment and associated controls Assist in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required Maintain grounds to include but in not limited to mowing, weed eating, blowing off lots and sidewalks and picking up trash Maintain routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system Perform manual duties as requested (ie, moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material) Read blueprints, interprets instructions and prepares specifications Knowledgeable of safety measures/devices used on behavioral health units Ability to do work on his/her own with only minimal supervision Ability to work well on his/her own to inspect facilities and equipment Keep shop and tools in a neat and orderly fashion A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment Knowledge and observance of safety precautions Cover for Housekeeping when necessary
Regulatory Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Language Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Additional languages preferred
Skills:
Basic computer knowledge Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
