1K a year 9 hours ago Qualifications Basic math Maintenance High school diploma or GED Organizational skills Computer skills Communication skills Entry level Time management Full Job Description The Maintenance Specialist I works under close supervision, while performing basic cleaning of parking facilities, and routine and semi-skilled craft work in support of routine parking maintenance. Assists with minor repairs of parking facilities. Installs minor fixtures such as signage, door closures, moves furniture and hangs items such as bulletin boards. All work is to be performed with an emphasis on basic maintenance practices, a development of skills, while adhering to all safety procedures set-fourth by the University, the department and regulatory agencies (OSHA). Assist with maintaining parking lots, garages and transit facilities. Cleaning all parking facilities Removing debris (e.g. trash, glass and gravel) Snow and ice removal Maintenance of all parking facilities Painting of facilities (doors, handrails, walls, curbs) Install and maintain parking wheel stops, speed bumps and signage Setup and break down of road closures Drain cleaning Repair of doors and door closures Set-up and break down special events for the University, which number in the hundreds annually. Completes work orders and other required reports either in hard copy form and/or electronic form Attends trainings (HR 128/32 hours) Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays for home football games, and other campus events. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to be active for 8 hours of walking. Ability to stand, lift, and have good balance. Effective oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, time management skills. Basic math and computer skills. Ability to perform moderately strenuous activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous parking maintenance experience.
