Job Summary/Basic Function
Must be able to complete work performed in various skilled maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and other related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision, and reports are made to the Maintenance Coordinator, Housing Facilities. Must have knowledge of methods, materials, and procedures used in general repair and maintenance work; Occupational hazards, safety precautions, and OSHA standards; Machines, tools, and equipment used in a variety of tasks as required. Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions; To use, clean, repair, and maintain equipment, tools, and machinery required in accomplishing tasks; To evaluate situations and make decisions; To establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the students, public, and other employees; To maintain an open line of communication with students, the public, and other employees; To work independently when needed.
Required Education
High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.
Required Related Experience
One (1) year of maintenance experience in building and/or plant maintenance involving a variety of work such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and masonry required or completion of a standard apprenticeship in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical required.
Required License/Registration/Certification
A valid driver’s license is required.
