JOB TITLE

Maintenance Worker

SUMMARY:

Performance of routine maintenance duties to include carpentry, drywall installation, basic electrical, plumbing, painting, upkeep of grounds, HVAC filter changes, floor repairs, moving of equipment and furniture and other related duties as assigned.

Experience:

Experience in the maintenance field preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledgeable of maintenance procedures. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. Verbal/written communication skills.

EQUIPMENT

Standard tools required to perform the duties as described in the job description and any other equipment required to perform the functions of the position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform routine duties as assigned including carpentry, dry-wall, elementary electrical, plumbing, painting, ground work, emergency janitorial clean-up, floor repairs, moving of equipment and furniture. – 95% of work performed will meet normal construction standards upon inspection and will not require re-working.
2. Maintain in good order facilities that are assigned to the position.
3. Works well and communicated effectively with internal and external vendors.
4. Serve on-call during evenings and weekends as assigned.
5. Complete assignments and related paperwork in a timely manner. – completes maintenance worker’s section of the maintenance request form and returns to supervisor within five working days of completion of project 90% of the time.
6. Abide by Purchasing Department requirements when purchasing materials. – follows Frontier Health’s purchasing policies and procedures under ordinary circumstances 100% of time.
7. Promptly report problems and difficulties to the appropriate Maintenance Supervisor.
8. Take initiative to make routine repairs as needed without waiting for a written request to be filled and approved.
9. Treats patient, clients, visitors and staff in a courteous and respectful manner at all times.
10. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and inservices and individual program planning staffings as needed. – 85% compliance 11. All other duties as assigned.
