The Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance and housekeeping staff, both internal staff and outsourced staff. Management experience is required. The Facilities Manager oversees minor projects and must have knowledge of systems to be maintained (electrical, roofing, plumbing, pools).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance/Facility Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of our community center. The ideal candidate will ensure that all facilities are well-maintained, safe, and functional for our members and visitors. Under the supervision of the COO, the Maintenance Manager works closely with maintenance staff to ensure that all the daily facility needs of the JCC are met during opening hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Works alongside and coordinates the activities of the maintenance staff. Performs and delegates necessary maintenance and housekeeping tasks. Oversees schedules, responsibilities and checklists of maintenance staff. Responds promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. Troubleshoots and performs routine maintenance repairs. Responsible for program and event set-ups Conducts regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs. Works with the COO to schedule and oversee preventive maintenance tasks. Assists in developing and implementing maintenance policies and procedures. Oversees the ordering of supplies necessary to maintain facilities. Recommends cost-effective solutions to maintain and operate the facilities. Coordinates with external contractors for specialized repairs and services. Ensures compliance with safety regulations and standards. Maintains records of maintenance activities. Trains, develops, and leads maintenance staff. Some holiday and special event work is expected.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred. Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role. Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. Ability to work in various environmental conditions. Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods. Ability to bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach. Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
