Directs activities of workers concerned with construction ofcommercial projects, including but not limited to educationalfacilities,automotive dealerships, high-end retail, and othercommercial work. The Lead Superintendent is responsible for thedelivery of successful, profitable projects while also mentoringother Junior Superintendents and continuing the company mission.
Client Details We are currently partnered with a thriving GC in theBirmingham area who are in search of a Lead Superintendent to jointheir local office. They have been in the business for over 25years with a strong pipeline of large scale commercial projects.

Description Studies specifications to plan proceduresfor construction on basis of starting and completion times andstaffing requirements for each phase of construction. Assemblesmembers of organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, andother workers) at start of project. Orders procurement of tools andmaterials to be delivered at specified times to conform to workschedules. Confers with and directs supervisory personnel andsubcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures,interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases ofconstruction to prevent delays. Confers with supervisory personneland other company representatives to resolve complaints andgrievances within work force. Confers with supervisory and projectmanagement personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools andmaterials to resolve construction problems and improve constructionmethods. Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanshipconforms to specifications and the adherence to constructionschedules. Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials usedand costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioningprojects for existing installations. Prepares and reports payroll,per diem, daily reports, safety rosters, etc. Ensures safety rulesand regulations are followed (OSHA, client, and company rulesProvides on-the-job training for subordinates Works with humanresources and other supervisors within the company to hire and/ortransfer employees as needed Provides discipline and praise toemployees as needed in the form of warnings, terminations,evaluations, and pay increases Profile 10 years of CommercialConstruction experience as a Project Superintendent Experience inground-up retail builds is preferred Knowledge of scheduling andcost principles Basic knowledge of project management software Amature professional with excellent judgment. A highlyentrepreneurial, self-motivated and results-oriented individual.
