Full Job Description Position Summary:
This role leads and supports a technical team within a manufacturing environment, driving project completion and continuous improvement initiatives to meet production goals and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Ensure safety protocols and quality standards are upheld across the department; facilitate training for all team members. Supervise equipment maintenance, machinery performance, and any facility layout or structural adjustments. Train and develop the maintenance team to function independently without external support. Oversee and implement tooling changes, modifications, and engineering change instructions (ECIs). Actively participate in shop floor issue resolution and provide hands-on troubleshooting leadership. Support initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and meeting performance targets like GSPH, MTTR, and MTBF. Plan and delegate projects among maintenance personnel. Coordinate with vendors for material sourcing and maintain proper inventory levels. Evaluate space usage, workflow, and equipment layout for optimal efficiency. Collaborate with equipment suppliers to enhance the use and performance of machinery. Work cross-functionally with production and management to ensure timelines and capacities are aligned. Detect potential quality concerns and collaborate with design teams to address issues during production. Prepare and manage departmental budgets and monitor financial performance. Maintain consistent attendance and workplace presence.
Additional Expectations:
Must be willing to assist in various areas of the department, even outside of primary duties, to support broader company objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience/training Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting preferred Capable of passing a mechanical aptitude test (if applicable) Able to follow written instructions and technical documentation Familiarity with electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics preferred Experience with Omron, Mitsubishi, or Fanuc PLC programming is a plus
Working Conditions:
Primarily based in an industrial facility with standard plant noise and activity Frequent movement through production areas, with exposure to stamping, welding, and coating processes
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 33 lbs. Standing for extended periods on the shop floor Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods Ability to move throughout the facility regularly Willingness to work overtime and weekends based on production needs
