JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and performing preventative and corrective maintenance at our Alabama and Kentucky manufacturing facilities (Home base is Alabama). The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude to support a wide range of equipment including: welding systems, CNC machines, plasma/oxyfuel cutting tables, and overhead cranes. This role requires a proactive leader who is equally capable on the shop floor and in planning, scheduling, and improving maintenance programs.
JOB DUTIES
Perform and supervise maintenance activities across 3 manufacturing facilities: two Alabama facilities (primary) and one Kentucky facility (occasional travel). Provide coaching and technical direction to maintenance technician(s). Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all critical equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Maintain and update maintenance logs and safety compliance documentation. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action processes for equipment failures. Manage spare parts inventory and vendor relationships. Collaborate closely with production leadership to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety standards. Assist with installation of commissioning of new machinery and equipment upgrades. Support crane inspections and maintenance programs (training provided if needed).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (Fabrication/machining preferred). Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred. Overhead Crane Inspection/Repair Certification a plus (training provided). Strong background in industrial electrical systems (3-phase power, VFDs, PLC troubleshooting, and wiring). Proficient in mechanical repairs including welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and general fabrication equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical diagrams. Hands-on leadership style with ability to both lead and actively participate in repairs. Working knowledge of CNC machinery, plasma cutting tables, overhead cranes, and welding equipment. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand/walk 95% of the work day. Lift up to 50 pounds with assistance from overhead cranes or co-workers. Twist, reach and bend frequently. Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine). Possess depth perception and peripheral vision. Possess the ability to hear. Possess the ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Subject to standing on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day. Exposure to hot and cold conditions, noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery.
