Job purpose The purpose of the position, under the supervision of the Managing Director, is to oversee and coordinate all aspects of facility maintenance, including planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance activities, ensuring safety compliance, and managing maintenance personnel. Duties and responsibilities Develops and implements maintenance schedules and plans. Installs, repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance. Repair, maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment, to include, but not limited to air compressors, overhead cranes, shop lighting. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain sources of breakdowns safely, efficiently and effectively. Dismantle machinery, to include removing/replacing defective parts, to ensure safety of operators and proper operations. Responsible to train team members on routine preventive maintenance. Prioritizes maintenance tasks and allocates resources effectively. Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; to include, managing inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Conducts regular safety inspections and addresses any safety concerns. Must maintain safe and clean work environments by complying with all company policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) or an equivalent combination of education & experience 4-5 years of experience in production and manufacturing processes, excellent technical knowledge in the steel, mining, industrial, recycling or maintenance repair industry Strong understanding of business operations with attention to detail Basic understanding of open arc/sub arc welding Ability to train team members and associated work crews to accomplish goals and objectives established by management Able to read and interpret maintenance and repair manuals and electrical/mechanical schematics for use in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical assemblies Exceptional understanding of equipment maintenance repair Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, extremely organized Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently (decisive) and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices Strong judgment skills, dependable, excellent teamwork skills, good time management skills, creative, problem-solving, hardworking & persistent, professional competence, proactive Maintains good public relations by displaying an attitude of dedication, courtesy and professional competence that will be recognized as such by customers (internal and external) Current/active driver’s license
