TheCommercial Kitchen Equipment Repair or Maintenance Team Leader isresponsible for managing and supervising the maintenance team atthe metro food production facility.
Experience with commercialkitchen repairs in a food production environment is required.
Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations of the maintenanceteam, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, completingmaintenance logs and any other documentation required as part offood safety and equipment safety, and ensuring all targets are metand safety protocols are followed. Lead and ensure that a USDepartment of Agriculture (USDA) manufacturing facility maintenanceteam operates safely and complies with regulatory and corporatesafety and environmental program standards and goals. Diagnoseequipment malfunctions and determine appropriate repair strategies.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for allequipment. Ensure checklists are followed, including inspection ofdrives, motors and belts, fluid levels, filter replacements, andother maintenance functions. Organize and schedule maintenanceactivities to minimize production downtime. Assist in preparing andmanaging maintenance budgets, including cost estimates for repairsand replacements. Adherence to all safety policies for equipmentwhen maintaining or cleaning, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools.
Communicate and maintain building safety and security standards andfollow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
Interview, select, train, develop, counsel, and manage performancefor Team Members in a way that builds and sustains ahigh-performing and engaged team. Collaborate with Team MemberServices on Team Member relations including, proper documentation,investigations, corrective actions, and resolve team concernsand/or issues. In collaboration with subject matter experts,maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with,relevant regulatory rules and standards, including OccupationalSafety and Health Administration (OSHA), USDA, State Department ofAgriculture, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP),Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA), Americans withDisabilities Act (ADA), Department of Labor, Health and Sanitationregulations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Weights andMeasures. Build a positive work environment of outstanding teamworkand mutual respect.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree OR equivalentcombination of education and relevant experience. 2 years ofexperience in maintenance within a food manufacturing environmentand 12 months of maintenance supervisory experience in the foodmanufacturing industry. Relevant certifications such as CertifiedMaintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified PlantMaintenance Manager (CPMM), or similar credentials preferred. OSHAsafety certification or other relevant safety training. Ability toplan, execute, and oversee maintenance projects from start tofinish, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration,plumbing, and hydraulic systems commonly used in foodmanufacturing. Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret repairmanuals, parts catalogs, blueprints, technical procedures, safetyrules, operation/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Experience in managing relationships with external contractors,service providers, and equipment manufacturers. Familiarity withComputerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and othermaintenance-related software for scheduling, tracking, andreporting. Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in selectMicrosoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); andability to learn custom applications. Basic understanding ofEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) processes within a foodmanufacturing environment. Ability to work well with others,self-motivated, and capable of working independently with littlesupervision. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needsof the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays asrequired. Ability to build strong partnerships with keystakeholders, including Team Members, customers suppliers, andregulators. Work requires the following motions:
bending,twisting, squatting, and reaching. Use common hand and power toolssuch as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as wellas specialized equipment and electronic testing devices. Exposureto FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
Exposure to temperatures:
90degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to work in wet and dry conditions. Mayrequire the use of ladders.
