Building Supervisor I State of Connecticut Judicial BranchHartford The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking aBuilding Supervisor I for a position at the Supreme Court. Underthe direction of an employee of higher grade, the position isresponsible for supervising a small to moderate size staff andensuring that all buildings and grounds responsibilities are met.
The following statements are intended to describe the generalnature and level of work being performed by employees assigned tothe title including but not limited to: Supervises and coordinatesall maintenance and custodial responsibilities for a small tomoderate size building and ensures compliance with establishedpolicy and standards; prepares building condition reports andsupply and service requisitions; assists in the preparation ofperformance reviews; inspects and repairs, when necessary,defective building systems such as lighting , plumbing, heating,air conditioning, etc.; trains and assigns staff to specific tasks;keeps employee attendance records; supervises or performs otherminor and routine repair work; maintains adequate inventory controlof supplies; performs all the duties of the lower level maintenanceworks and performs all other related duties as required. Preferredcandidates will have considerable general maintenance knowledge,supervisory experience, interpersonal skills; oral and writtencommunication skills; basic computer skills; ability to prepareminor project scopes of work, and obtain estimates with outsidecontractors. Incumbent may be required to respond to Supreme Courtafter-hours alarm notifications and travel in the course of theirdaily work.
Salary Range:
$69,589 – $89,706/year – plus State ofConnecticut benefits. New employees begin at the minimum. Thestarting salary for existing state employees may be higher than theminimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy. EXPERIENCE ANDTRAINING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Four years of experiencein building maintenance and repair work.
