POSITION GOAL

To primarily conduct space planning and process applications for the location of Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) personnel into administrative offices/cubicles by utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit software, or as necessary AutoCAD to conduct spatial, analysis, planning, generate AutoCAD and BIM Revit floorplan layouts administrative offices/cubicles, and the placement of the personnel into administrative offices/cubicles. Additionally, to assist in ensuring the optimum utilization of administrative spaces contained within BCPS facilities, consistent with BCPS Administrative Space Utilization Standards and as applicable, the Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) office standards.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Space Planning Analyst shall carry out the performance responsibilities listed below: Generate as directed FISH related building floor plan and site plan drawings of BCPS school and administrative facilities utilizing BIM Revit, or AutoCAD when necessary. Assist as directed, in determining FISH data from construction documents prepared by architects and engineers for new construction, renovations and building additions located on BCPS owned sites. Conduct as directed, field inspections of BCPS school and administrative facilities to ascertain on-site conditions and accuracy of the footprints, and spatial layouts as relates to the BIM Revit or Auto

related building floor plans and site plan drawings; consistent with the current established Facility Planning & Real Estate Departmental standards, which are in BIM Revit or at a minimum AutoCAD format before filling in

database. Assist in assigning FISH numbers to buildings and rooms. Assist in the survey of all existing BCPS facilities to keep the FISH data current. Conduct, as directed, on-site investigations and surveys to keep BCPS facilities plans which include portables, playgrounds, playfields/courts, parking facilities, mechanical rooms, hurricane shelters and other related amenities up-to-date. Process all applications for the location of personnel into BCPS administrative offices/cubicles, and schedule and coordinate the relocation and vacation from administrative spaces leased by the School Board. Conduct spatial analysis and planning of the desired administrative office/cubicle layout by primarily utilizing BIM Revit or AutoCAD, when necessary, to determine if the requested relocation is practical and feasible. Determine if any site upgrades, reconfiguration and/or modifications of the desired administrative office/cubicle would be needed. Convene a “scope finding meeting” of key administrative personnel as necessary, to arrive at a realistic scope of work for requested administrative moves; determine and categorize if the requested move is a major, medium, intermediate, or minor move, and as necessary, coordinate and obtain data regarding the total cost associated with the requested relocation. Coordinate with appropriate BCPS department/staff to ensure that required telecommunication and equipment is installed in the administrative office/cubicle scheduled for personnel relocation and occupation. Stay engaged in the placement of BCPS personnel into the administrative office/cubicle, and upon completion of location, process all necessary paperwork and end the project.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

An earned associate degree from an accredited institution in architecture, interior design, civil engineering, or a degree in a related field, such as structural, electrical engineering, or building construction., Or Sixty hours or more of course credits, and a certificate in AutoCAD•Advanced or an equivalent certificate in AutoCAD. And A minimum of one (1) year within the last two (2) years of successful work experience using BIM Revit or in a field related to the title of the position with demonstrated knowledge of utilizing BIM Revit. A minimum of (1) year of recent experience in AutoCAD. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. Computer skills are required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in architecture, interior design or related field and a certificate in AutoCAD•Advanced or an equivalent certificate in AutoCAD. Examples of work generated, which demonstrates experience in using BIM Revit and AutoCAD. Bilingual skills.

SIGNIFICANT

CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose Frequent contact with Specialist, Florida Inventory of School Houses (FISH), CAD Draftsperson D, principals, architects, engineers & BCPS project managers to provide and receive information about the schools’ and administrative inventory on construction and other related matters. Meets with all levels of personnel within BCPS on as needed basis to develop and revise administrative space plans to ensure that layout meets individual work requirements within the restrictions of the allocated space, and as necessary, to address cost and funding needed to execute location/relocation into BCPS administrative offices/cubicles. Generate as directed, BIM format or AutoCAD drawings for each elementary, middle, and high school, centers, and vocational facilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
