Responsibilities include planning and implementing a rotational preventative maintenance schedule for vehicles and equipment, training staff in safe use proper care and maintenance of assigned equipment, as well as advising the Fleet Manager regarding major equipment failures and/or replacement needs.
Essential Functions:
Inspect equipment for operating deficiencies. Repair and adjust equipment as needed. Work intimately with other supervisors to achieve high quality and performance objectives. Periodic analysis of machine performance by doing field inspections in the company of either the Superintendent or Director of Agronomy. Lubricate and service all course maintenance equipment as necessary. Maintain detailed service, repair and usage records on all equipment utilizing existing software backed maintenance programs. Establish safety procedures and maintain safety records for equipment operation. Plan and implement a rotational preventative maintenance schedule for course equipment and transportation vehicles. Advise the Director of Agronomy regarding major equipment failures and/or replacement needs. Excellent communicational skills needed. Research the latest innovations and practices with regards to equipment maintenance. Establish and maintain an inventory of commonly used repair and/or service parts Develop vehicle maintenance histories for budgetary analysis. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education:
High school education required, college degree preferred.
Experience:
5+years golf course maintenance experience and supervisory experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Computer skills and proficiency with Trims, My Turf, Microsoft Excel and Word Valid driver’s license. Driving record meeting Company safety policies and guidelines. Demonstrated ability to operate golf course equipment Demonstrated quality verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends. Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations. Read and write (English). Ability to speak/understand Spanish a plus. Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers with or without the use of two-way radios. Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions Visually inspect all work areas, golf course, grounds, and equipment See players on the golf course, and to follow the flight of golf balls Operate vehicles and equipment for several hours at a time Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages Retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources
Environment :
Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.
