The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for vehicle maintenance, along with exceptional leadership skills to manage a team of technicians. This role is critical in driving service sales while maintaining quality and efficiency in our operations. Duties Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring all work is performed efficiently and meets quality standards. Manage and mentor a team of mechanics, providing guidance on vehicle maintenance and repair procedures. Engage with customers to understand their needs, provide accurate estimates, and upsell additional services as appropriate. Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all vehicles serviced. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding vehicle maintenance. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure timely service delivery. Conduct regular training sessions for staff on new technologies, tools, and best practices in automotive service. Experience Proven experience in automotive service management or a similar role within the automotive industry. Strong background in vehicle maintenance with hands-on experience as a mechanic preferred. Proficiency in service writing and understanding of repair orders. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and staff alike. Familiarity with air brake systems, alignment procedures, shocks, struts, and other mechanical components is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to drive sales through effective upselling techniques while maintaining integrity in service delivery.
